Security stepped up in Jharkhand for Durga puja

CCTVs have been installed at strategic points and 10000 police personnel deployed across the state as part of elaborate security arrangements for Durga Puja festival in Jharkhand.
Regular checks of pandals are being conducted by dog squads too, an official release said here.
Directions have been issued to different departments to remain alert, the release said adding police headquarters deployed an additional 2800 security personnel to keep a strict vigil on anti-social elements.
A total of 293 magistrates and 1600 police personnel are manning different areas in Ranchi. Anti-riots squad has also been alerted, IT SAID.
Meanwhile, Puja fervour has gathered momentum with people thronging pandals set up with exquisite craftsmanship at several places in the Jharkhand capital.
