With a view to formulate a unified vision for India, the Niti Aayog has asked all the Deputy Commissioners in Haryana to submit a brief, precise one-page document listing the suggestions and priorities of citizens from every Gram Sabha.
In a written communication addressed to the Deputy Commissioners in the state, the Niti Aayog has stated that these priorities would be taken into serious consideration in drafting India's vision document and would also be presented as the Citizens' Vision of India to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Haryana government release said here today.
Niti Aayog has also urged the Deputy Commissioners to organise special meeting of the Gram Sabha on January 26, 2017 across the state.
Soft copies of banners and hoardings to be printed by the district for publicity would be provided by Niti Aayog, it said.
The Deputy Commissioners could send the suggestions of the citizens to Niti Aayog through email or post latest by January 31, 2017, it further said.
"The 12th Plan period for India would close on March 31, 2017. This also marks the end of Five Year Plan in India. As envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will now have a 15-year vision document comprising a 3-year action agenda and a 7-year strategy document, to help realise the country's long-term goals. The Aayog has been tasked with the responsibility of formulating the vision document. It envisions India as a nation united by shared vision," it said.
Towards formulating a united vision for India, reflecting the priorities of every citizen, Niti Aayog would ensure that a Special Gram Sabha be organised this Republic Day 2017 across the country.
The Gram Sabha is expected to outline the top priorities of citizens in every panchayat such as education, employment, health and sanitation and infrastructure. The main aim of this exercise is to acknowledge and incorporate aspirations and priorities of citizens in India's 15-year vision document, the release said, adding this is envisioned to give Niti Aayog an understanding of the different goals and priorities of Indian Citizens across geographical locations.
