'Seinfeld' fans can rejoice as the popular 90s sitcom is set to return on the small screen "very, very soon."
The rumours that recently surfaced about a possible reunion are true with Jerry Seinfeld confirming them in an interview to a radio show.
"It's a secret project," he was quoted as saying by the New York Daily News.
Speculations sprang up after Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, who played George Castanza, and the show's creator, Larry David, were spotted at Tom's Restaurant in New York City.
The diner was the setting for the coffee shop that the cast frequented on the hit series.
While Seinfeld admitted that a project had either taken place or was in progress, the 59-year-old comedian did not give much detail except that it was most certainly not a Super Bowl commercial.
Seinfeld said it was a "secret project," which would be seen "very, very soon," and it involved other characters from the original sitcom.
"Of course he remembers playing that character for 9 years," Seinfeld responded when asked if Alexander was surprised to receive a call about the new project.
Seinfeld also said that this is a "one-and-done" project.
Seinfeld was an American television sitcom that was originally aired on NBC from 1989-1998. It lasted nine seasons.
It was created by David and Seinfeld, the latter starring as a fictionalised version of himself.
