The Newcastle born actress will play a Muslim girl who has arrived in Walford for her arranged marriage, reported Sun online.
"I am so excited about the show," she said.
Her character will move in with family friend Zainab Masood, played by Nina Wadia, while she prepares for the wedding. But things get off to a bumpy start when she arrives in December.
"Ayesha will be completely out of her comfort zone in Albert Square, she comes from a much more sheltered place," a source said.
'EastEnders' is long-running show that airs on BBC 1 and follows the life of people livingin the fictional London Borough of Walford in the East End of London.
