Mizoram Industries Minister H. Rohluna today said that coal-based Mizo Carbon Products Private Limited which has its manufacturing unit at the Industrial Growth Centre at Luangmual near Aizawl was served a show cause notice on the issue of receiving dubious subsidies from the Centre.
In reply to a question from Lalruatkima of the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) in the assembly, Rohluna said that the industrial firm was recommended to receive Rs 93.90 lakh and Rs 247.75 lakh of Central Capital Investment Subsidy (CCIS) and Central Transport Subsidy (CTS) respectively.
He said that the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) had asked the state government to investigate the alleged dubious CCIS and CTS received by the Mizo Carbon Products from the Centre.
The industrial unit, commissioned on February 14, 2012 was having an installed capacity to process 24,200 MT coal per month and manufacture coke.
The YMA general secretary Vanlalruata had alleged that the Mizo Carbon Products limited did not produce anything but set up the unit to avail industrial subsidies from the Centre.
