A sub-inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police was today suspended for negligence in investigating a November 2013 murder case.
The suspension order was issued after Ghaziabad senior superintendent of police found negligence in the investigation into a murder case by sub-inspector Ved Prakash Singh.
On November 19 last year, one Ashish Kumar Garg, a resident of Indirapuri area of Loni, was found murdered in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh.
The investigation of the case was assigned to sub-inspector Ved Prakash Singh in January this year.
"After six months, he was not even able to crack the case. Besides, he never investigated the case seriously which indicates negligence on his part. Singh also didn't try to search evidence related to the case," a senior police officer said.
"This case will now be handed over to other sub-inspector so that immediate breakthrough could be made in the case and accused would be brought to book soon," the officer added.
