A decision in this regard was taken at meeting chaired by SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib here.
Talking to media persons, Badungar said that the SGPC had decided to establish a museum at Nankana Sahib, the birth place of first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev. It was also decided to set up an institute named after Bhai Mardana to provide training in 'Gurmat Sangeet' to children, he said.
Badungar said the SGPC had also decided to withdraw the title 'Shiromani Patarkar' it had conferred on veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar for allegedly writing against separatist militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed in Operation Bluestar.
He said that preparations were being made for the celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev's 550th Prakash Purab (birth anniversary) in 2019.
The SGPC will organise events like a 'Kavi Darbar', 'Kirtan Darbar' and 'Dhadi Darbar' at Sultanpur Lodhi, on November 4, 2017 on birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
He said that the SGPC executive also decided to set up a library at Nankana Sahib.
