Silver prices were higher by Rs 81 to Rs 38,890 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised their bets amid a firm trend overseas.
In futures trading, silver for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 81, or 0.21 per cent, at Rs 38,890 per kg, in a business turnover of 3 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Silver for delivery in July, too, gained Rs 10, or 0.03 per cent, at Rs 39,514 per kg in 526 lots.
In the international market, silver rose 0.24 per cent to USD 16.39 an ounce in Singapore today.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade raising of bets by participants, largely in sync with a firm trend in global markets as tariff woes between the US and China returned, raising demand for the precious metals as a safe haven.
