Snapdeal founders invest in UrbanClap

Rohit Bansal and Kunal Bahl -- the founders online marketplace Snapdeal -- have participated in a seed funding round in mobile services marketplace UrbanClap.
Urban Clap today said it has raised 10 crore in seed funding from SAIF Partners, Accel Partners and the founders of Snapdeal.
The company will invest the seed fund in expanding its team from 25 to 175 by September as well as scaling up its platform by adding more service categories.
"We will build up our platform and services portfolio as well as expand metros. The Rs 10 crore will mostly be utilised for these purposes," UrbanClap co-founder Varun Khaitan told PTI.
Founded October 2014, UrbanClap helps find professionals across areas such as plumbing, wedding photography, yoga teachers, electricians and interior designers.

Toppr.Com acquires EasyPrep
* Online test preparation platform Toppr.Com today said it has acquired EasyPrep, an online platform which also helps students prepare for entrance exams like IIT JEE and pre-medical test, for an undisclosed amount.
"Toppr.Com's main focus has always been towards building great products and having EasyPrep team onboard gives us more ammunition to execute our plans faster," Zishaan Hayath, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Toppr.Com said in a statement here today.
"We are really glad to be part of Toppr.Com and we look forward to working with their team to roll out what we think is an elaborate vision to revolutionise education in India," Ankit Saraswat, Co-Founder, EasyPrep said.
Toppr.Com provides online preparation platform for IIT JEE entrance exams aspirants, pre-medical test and VIII, IX and X students planning to pursue science.
EasyPrep is a customised exam creation platform for schools, coaching institutes and teachers and an exam preparation platform for students.

Bridgestone opens exclusive outlet in TN * Tyre manufacturer Bridgestone India, a subsidiary of Japan-headquartered Bridgestone Corporation, as part of its strategy to open exclusive outlets, inaugurated the "Select Store" at Udumalpet in Coimbatore today.
The exclusive showroom at Udumalpet in Tirupur district was formally inaugurated by Bridgestone India, Zonal Head (South), S Venkitachalam today, a company statement said.
The inauguration of new outlet comes in the backdrop of the growth strategy undertaken by Bridgestone India. The company has over 360 Select stores in the country.
