The 19-year-old Indian, who won one ITF singles title last season in Hyderabad, has another Swiss as her opponent in Jessica Crivelletto, who trounced Russia's Anastasia Chikalkina 6-2 6-0.
In another quarterfinal, India's sixth seed Karman lost 5-7 2-6 to unseeded Italian Anna Turati, ending the hopes of an all-Indian summit clash.
