Presiding over a meeting here today, Sonowal asked the cultural affairs department to finalise modalities for the formation of the clusters and undertake an exhaustive planning for preservation of the archaeological sties.
It was also decided that Asom Divas would be celebrated on December 2 at Tipam near Naharkatiya in Dibrugarh district.
"Assam Divas commemorating the birth anniversary of Swargadeo Sui-Ka-Pha (founder of Ahom Kingdom in Assam in 13th century) should reflect the unique and colourful cultural facets of the tribes and ethnic people of Assam so that the younger generation could get the chance to get acquainted with our cultural heritage." Sonowal said.
