South Zone women U-19 cricket: Karnataka, TN post wins

The first match was played at IGMC Stadium in the city, where Karnataka defeated Kerala by four wickets.

Karnataka invited Kerala to bat and bundled them out for 151 in 46.1 overs with main contributions coming in from Viji Thomas (50), Anjana Paul Paily Thomas (25) and A S Suresh (24).

R S Gayakwad (3/21), S S Pawar (3/35), P N Panchal (2/21) were the key bowlers for Karnataka.

Karnataka scored 154 for 6 in 47.4 overs with P N Panchal (28) Debasmita Dutta (28) and G Divya (24) being the main scorers.

The second match at ACA Women's Academy ground at Guntur between Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad ended in a tie. Both teams got two points each.

Batting first after winning the toss, AP scored 216/8 in 50 overs. N Anusha (50) V Sneha Deepti (42) G Chandralekha (40 no) were the main scorers.

Hyderabad were all out for 216 in 50 overs. Sneha Morey (49), Nidhi Torvi (46), V Kavya (40) and Arundhati Reddy (28) put up good batting display.

In another match at ACA Grounds, Mangalagiri in Guntur district, Tamil Nadu thrashed Goa by 22 runs.

Tamil Nadu, which won the toss and elected to bat first, were all out for 176 in 46.4 overs with main contributions coming coming from C V Sweta (45), Netra Iyer (40) Hemalata Dayalan (25) and Anuskha Jagatbahadur (21).

Goa fell short of the victory target and were bundled out for 154 in 48.4 overs.
