"I had said immediately after government formation in the state that if law and order situation has to be maintained, the SP cadres need to be controlled first," Bharti said after casting her vote for the Presidential poll here.
She alleged that SP workers not only get involved in criminal cases, but also interfere with the functioning of district level authorities.
"They create a lot of pressure on district magistrates, inspectors and tehsildars and terrorise the administration," he alleged.
Expressing concern over "spurt" in crime in the state, she insisted that the chief minister and other ministers in the government should maintain vigil to bring down crime graph in the state.
Alleging that SP men were involved in most of the criminal cases including murders, Bharti claimed that "police was not taking any action."
Appreciating state government's move to give scholarships to Muslim girls which, Bharti, however, said there should be no discrimination against the backward classes and it should also be given to the girls belonging to dalit and backward communities.
"Dalits and backwards had also voted in favour of SP. Discrimination against the people on the basis of religion is against the Constitution," she said.
