The Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) today staged protests outside the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata against the fuel price hike.

The SUCI(C) supporters carrying placards against the fuel price hike violated the prohibitory orders in vogue in the area as per security norms.

The protestors termed the decision to increase prices of fuel as "anti-people" and demanded immediate reduction of fuel prices across the country.

Few SUCI(C) supporters were detained by the police, the force sources said.
