Sugar drop on subdued demand, ample supply

Both the variety of sugar, medium and small, fell at the Vashi wholesale market here today owing to subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers on the back of adequate supply position.
Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,911/3,025 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,916/3,025.
Medium sugar (M-30) also weakened by Rs 15/18 to Rs 3,032/3,156 as against Rs 3,050/3,171 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,911/3,025 (Rs 2,916/3,025).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,032/3,156 (Rs 3,050/3,171).
