Suzlon wind turbine achieves 42% PLF

Renewable energy player Suzlon Group today said its 2.1 mw wind turbine generator has achieved 42 per cent plant load factor (PLF) or capacity utilisation in Kutch, Gujarat.
"S111 120m 2.1 mw wind turbine generator has achieved 42 per cent PLF in its first 12 months of operation at Jamanwada site in Kutch district of Gujarat. The prototype was commissioned in March 2016," Suzlon said in a statement.
According to the statement, the PLF is 20 per cent higher than the one achieved by another generator in its first 12 months at the same location.
"The S111 120m 2.1 mw wind turbine is a game changer in the industry... With its reduced levelised cost of energy (LCoE), cost effective design and superior performance, it will unlock unviable sites and set new benchmarks in the Indian wind industry," said J P Chalasani, Group CEO, Suzlon Group, in the statement.

The Bengaluru-based company is all geared up to commence its first 10-member technology team outside India.
Wang comes with over 20 years of experience and has previously worked with leading global firms like Bertelsmann, Oracle, Autodesk, Arvato Services and the like.

Tata Capital hands over new homes to Maha aboriginals * Tata Capital in association with Habitat for Humanity India has built 40 new homes that have been delivered to low- income aboriginals in Dahanu, Maharashtra.
The handover was made by R Vaithianathan, MD, Tata Capital Housing Finance, and Mukul Dixit, senior director- Programmes and Operations, Habitat for Humanity India.
The move is intended to provide safe and affordable housing, Tata Capital said, adding that the pucca houses will help improve health status and self-esteem of these families by giving them ownership of an asset.
Vaithianathan said: "The government's 'Housing For All' scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna aims to provide affordable housing to the poor by 2022. We are determined to help achieve this goal.
