'Swachh Bharat' campaign must make impact on ground: Mahajan

Lauding the Modi Government for launching the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan', Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today said it should not remain a short-term affair and people must ensure that cleanliness is truly visible at the ground level.
"Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is neither a single-day affair nor just an announcement. This is a continuous campaign and we have to ensure that people not only get aware about it but its results are visible on the ground," she said.
Mahajan was speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of Indore Municipal Corporation's Council Hall and first phase of its secretariat buiding.
The Speaker said IMC is the backbone of Indore's development. Therefore, it should have a proper infrastructure so that it can develop best basic facilities in the city.

Mahajan is Lok Sabha MP from Indore.
Indore Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe said the first phase of the secretariat building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore.
He also said a Rs 300-crore sewage treatment plant will be constructed in the city, the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh.
