HMSI's retail sales breached the 56,000 mark, up 40 per cent over the same day last year while Tata Motors said it delivered 1,100 cars in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on Ganesh Chaturthi this year.
"The 40 per cent increase in sales shows the high customer trust & confidence in the brand Honda and has surpassed all our expectations," HMSI Senior Vice President-Sales & Marketing YS Guleria said in a statement.
Tata Motors, on the other hand said it delivered more than 700 cars in Maharashtra and nearly 400 cars in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat.
