TC to take up issues of interests of common man in Parl: Sudip

Trinamool Congress in Parliament would take up all issues to "safeguard" the interests of the common man and defend the federal structure, its senior leader said today.
"We are fully prepared to take up all issues to safeguard the interests of the common citizens of India in general and West Bengal in particular," leader of the party's Parliamentary Party Sudip Bandopadhyay told PTI.
Bandopadhyay, who is in Kolkata, is not likely to attend most of the Budget Session of Parliament as he is under post- operative care after undergoing treatment for complications in gall bladder and pancreas.
He said his party would also not allow any attempt to "destroy the federal structure and system of our country" and stoutly defend it.

Bandopadhyay has also written a letter to all Trinamool Congress MPs asking them to participate in the Budget Session and raise important issues in keeping with the "vision and aspirations" of party chief Mamata Banerjee.
He said he had also informed Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu about his absence.
