The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has promised in its urban local bodies election manifesto released here today by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, that it would turn municipal corporations into 'navaratnas' (gems) and create employment opportunities for youth in urban areas.
The TDP also promised that it would supply clean and safe drinking water for Rs 2 for a 20-litre bottle, in its election manifesto for urban local bodies, slated for March 30.
"It was under TDP's rule that urban local bodies in the state were given a proper shape. We focused on provision of basic civic amenities to people in all urban areas. In the last ten years of the Congress, urban local bodies were grossly neglected and left to stink," Chandrababu said.
The TDP would supply safe drinking water, maintain sanitation and hygiene as well as develop green spaces, he promised.
"We will ensure one job for each family if the TDP returns to power in the state," he said.
