The incident took place in Kochdihra village as two motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted the primary school teach Gopal Tiwari, riding on another bike and shot at him from close range before looting the bag containing the cash, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashish Anand said.
The injured teacher was rushed to the Sadar hospital for treatment, he said.
Tiwari, a teacher in a primary school in Ugrasen village, was going to his school to distribute scholarship and uniform money to the students a day after he had withdrawn the cash from a bank, the SDPO said.
