Teachers asked to explain history behind National Flag

School teachers have been asked too explain the history behind the National Flag and National Anthem after unfurling the tricolour during the coming Independence Day celebrations as per a communication from the Director of School Education.
Apart from distributing toffees to the children, the school teachers should explain to them the history of the freedom struggle and sacrifices of matryrs, among others, according to an official communication from the Director of School Education, Rameswara Murugan.
The cultural programmes should be planned in such a way that they really explained the culture of the state, stressed on patriotism, and tradition of the state.

It also suggested holding of oratorial, essay and drawing competitions on the freedom struggle and distribute prizes to the winners. Teachers should explain to the students the importance of tree planting and plant tree saplings also.
