Lucky Gupta Agarwal was found dead by his family members in a room wearing a nose mask-connected to a small nitrogen gas cylinder, at his S R Nagar residence here.
Police said he inhaled the gas as it was a "painless" method to commit suicide.
"He decided to inhale nitrogen gas to end his life as it was a painless method...He also did some research on ways to commit suicide," Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) A Venkateswara Rao said quoting a suicide note purportedly written by Lucky.
Agarwal had earlier worked as a software professional before quitting his job and had started developing software and mobile applications, police said.
His body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been booked under section 174 of CrPC, Rao said.
