The proposed Telangana Rashtra Rythu Samanvaya Samithi (TRRSS) will function as a non-profit organisation and allocated funds will be used towards achieving its objectives, a government release quoted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as saying.
The government is also planning to form farmers' coordination committees at village, mandal, and district levels as well.
Rao today held a review meeting at Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of the chief minister, to discuss the contours of coordination committees, their duties and responsibilities as well as the regional conferences to be held on February 25 and 26.
At least 51 per cent of these vommittees would be filled up by farmers from the weaker sections and women, the release quoted the chief minister as saying.
