The student JAC leaders have been on a hunger strike from June 30 at the Andhra University here.
The doctors who conducted medical check-up of students JAC leaders, including its convenors Lagudu Govnida and Arati Mahesh and few others, advised them to take medical care immediately as their sugar, BP and water levels were going down.
When the student leaders refused to budge, the police took seven of the agitators including the two convenors to government King George Hospital in an ambulance amid protests from the students who staged a dharna in front of the varsity.
Prior to the meeting of APNGOs association to discuss further strategy today, its president Ashok Babu told reporters that they were contemplating to go on an indefinite strike to protect the interests of the lakhs of employees and pensioners and also the people of Andhra, but the final decision on it will be taken after consulting other trade unions and associations.
He said the association will continue its fight until the Union government withdraws the decision of bifurcation.
A report from Kadapa said people from various sections including private and government employees today held rallies and dharnas to oppose the proposed Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh.
