Mahant Suresh Das of the Ayodhya-based Digambar Akhada today raked up the contentious issue of the construction of Ram Temple in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Aditya Nath Yogi here, saying the temple would be built on 'Ram Janmabhoomi' itself.
"A grand Ram temple would be built on Ram Janmabhoomi," he told the gathering at a function which was also attended by Aditya Nath Yogi.
The priest also exuded confidence that with BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh, the road to constructing the temple would rather be smooth.
"In 2018, we would have a majority in Rajya Sabha, which would ease the process of making laws. Even then, if the Muslims want to take the dialogue route, resolve the issue once and for all and extend their support to the construction of Ram Temple, it would be good and we would welcome it," he said.
Gorakhpur is the Lok Sabha constituency of Aditya Nath Yogi.
