The theft at sub-inspector Gyan Prakash's house came to light when the family woke up yesterday morning, a police spokesperson said today.
The victims found that the almirahs were open and the house was ransacked, he said, adding that they have claimed that gold and silver jewelleries worth Rs 30 lakh, two mobile phones and Rs 26,000 cash are missing.
The thieves probably sprayed some drugs on the family members while they were sleeping in the night as they were feeling nauseous and had burning sensation in the eyes when they woke up, the spokesman said and added that it could be the handiwork of somebody known to the family.
