Three KPLT militants arrested in Assam

An area commander and two linkmen of Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tigers (KPLT) were today arrested in Karbi Anglong by a joint team of Army and Assam Police.
In a joint operation, the Army unit at Diphu of Red Horns Division and state police apprehended one hardcore KPLT cadre and two linkmen in East Karbi Anglong, a defence spokesperson said in a statement.
Based on a tip-off, the joint operation was launched near Diphu town this morning, he added.
One .22 pistol along with 10 live rounds, Rs 50,000 and KPLT receipt pads were recovered from them, the official said.
The KPLT cadre has been identified as Munthir Engti, an area commander of the organisation, while the linkmen were identified as Horen Teron and David Engti.
