Vidya will be seen in Dia Mirza's home production film to be made under their banner Born Free Entertainment.
"I am thrilled to be lady James Bond. The film will mark the arrival of India's first lady detective and I am quite happy to be part of it. James Bond has become synonymous with 007... His gun and we will surely try to come up with something different and innovative," Vidya told PTI.
"The idea of a lady detective is exciting. If you want to see lady detective then I am here," she said.
