Tigress dies of illness in Udaipur zoo

The tigress, which was shifted to the zoo in July, 2000 from Kota, was ill for the last few days, they said.

The exact cause of its death will be known only after the post mortem report comes, the officials said.

Meanwhile, in Jaipur, a hyena, who was injured in an attack by villagers in Dausa district's Bandikui, succumbed to injuries here today.

The animal had strayed into a village in Bandikui following which the villagers hit him with batons yesterday, the officials said.
