"I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear about the Bengaluru-Ernakulam Express Train accident in which several people have lost their lives and many have been injured", he said.
"I convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and wish the injured a speedy recovery", he said in a Raj Bhavan release.
Nine passengers were killed and 16 seriously injured when nine bogies of the train from Bengaluru jumped off the track near Anekal in Karnataka today.
