"Tolly turning back to the basic story telling craft"

With son Artjun Chakraborty cast as main lead in two middle of the road, Bengali entertainers back-to-back, Veteran actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty says Tollywood's journey to the basic narrative style coincides with emergence of the new brigade.
"I liked the way the film's plots were woven around Apu (Saswata Chatterjee) and how youngsters were fitted in the cast. The 80s flavoured narrative with youngsters in lead, who hadnt experenced that phase will wean them towards that era, films and books of that era. That is important," the Feluda in Sandip Ray directed Royaal Bengal Rahasya, Gorosthane Sabdhan and slew of other released flicks, said.

Sabyasachi was referring to the plot in Bonkubabu, a film centering around 70-year old Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay who meets his compatriots Saratchandra, Bibhutibhusan at the para park in the morning in a maetaphorical presentation Arjun is the son of Bonkubabu who is aspiring, ambitious and yet rooted to the tradition.
In Chirodini Tumi Je Amar Arjun essayed a small town boy struggling to get his foothold in a big, wicked, enticing and not-so-caring city.
The blockbuster's director Soumik Chatterjee said, "Bonkubabu is a comedy but not a preachy one. I believe the simple narrative style always clicks."
Arjun's actor brother Gourav, having earned accolades in IFFI-awardee Apur Panchali, said "It is a humane tale and a simple narrative always helps to connect with the audience."

"We are not rivals. How we can be! He is my biggest supporter and same from here. We also do take part in stage shows together," Gourav said.
