"Too much interference in the federal structure is unacceptable. The state government is an elected body. The central government is also an elected body," Banerjee tweeted.
She further said in her Twitter feed, "Every elected body has its own jurisdiction. One must respect the other."
Banerjee, however, did not elaborate what prompted her to say this.
Her criticism of the Centre came shortly after reports of alleged bonhomie between her and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi during his visit to Burnpur on May 10 had made a strong pitch for the Centre and states working together as 'Team India' to take the country forward, a view endorsed by Banerjee.
