The CAT which delivered its order on an application from V Vijayakrishan, who was served with a transfer order to Karaikkal on February 22 and relieved on March 1, said the reason for transfer was the report of All India Radio's Women cell which said Vijayakrishnan did not involve in explicit sexual harassment or demands of a sexual nature, but merely involved in treating women employees in unequal manner.
But Vijayakrishnan was transferred on administrative grounds by the authorities, which he challenged before the CAT saying the reasons for his transfer were not furnished to him despite plea under the RTI Act.
He said the transfer was punitive and the bench of Chennai has jurisdiction to entertain his application, which set aside the transfer order.
