Actor-politician Paresh Rawal today supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' campaign and said people should treat the country as their own home.
The 65-year-old actor, who was in the capital to stage his famous play "Krishan Vs Kanhaiya", said one of the important aspects of the campaign is to bind the whole nation together.
"The other aspect of Swachh Bharat campaign is to treat your country as your own home. This campaign is not related only with dirt.
"We only think our home as our own but we don't think that our country is ours. We don't consider our lanes and locality our own property and we throw garbage on them after cleaning the house," the BJP MP told reporters.
Though his play do not talk about the cleanliness campaign, the "Hera Pheri" actor said "we should shy away from promoting the campaign".
"This campaign gives us the feeling that it is my country and we should promote this campaign with full enthusiasm."
"Krishan Vs Kanhaiya", the play which was the basis of hit 2012 film "OMG-Oh My God!" that starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh in the lead, is a satire on Indian godmen.
