One person was killed and three others were injured when a truck carrying apples overturned on a car near Hassan Valley which comes under the jurisdiction of Dhalli police station here, a police official said today.
The accident was so severe that the car got crushed and the body had to be extricated after cutting the vehicle, he said.
The truck was also later removed from the road to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Three people sustained serious injuries and they were rushed to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital, the official said.
An FIR was registered against the truck driver under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
