Automaker TVS will invest about Rs 800 crore over the next three years across its businesses, including for ramping up its plant capacities, Chairman and Managing Director Venu Srinivasan said here today.
TVS is into two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturing.
"We are planning to invest in the next three years about Rs 800 crore in motorcycles, castings, plastics across our businesses," Srinivasan told reporters here.
The investments include expansion of plant capacities and also in the Joint Venture with BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler division of German luxury car maker BMW, with which it stuck a deal a few years ago.
"Typically, the investments for motorcycles will be going from 2 million to 2.5 million. And yes, for the Joint Venture with TVS-BMW Motorrad and for Sundaram-Clayton (TVS Group company)," he said in reply to a query.
Srinivasan, who was here to take part in the two-day Global Investors Meet, hailed the state government's industrial policies. "(Tamil Nadu) it got tremendous work force and great deal of industrial peace," he added.
"We have trained engineers, polytechnic graduates coming up (every year) and it is a very responsive government. I think, it (Tamil Nadu) is really a investment destination in the country," he said.
