Twin green corridors created in Indore for two transplants

A liver and a kidney harvested from a 42-year-old brain-dead man here, were today transported via two green corridors to their destinations for transplants in two patients, one of them in Delhi.
"Two green corridors (freeways that scan red lights) were created. A 13-km-long from a private hospital to the (city) airport by which the liver was transported in 7.5 minutes. Another 10-km-long corridor was laid to a private hospital by which a kidney was carted out in 7 minutes," Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey said.
The donor, Vishwas Doshi, had suffered from a heart disease and underwent treatment at a private hospital here. The doctors declared him brain dead yesterday.

The family members of Doshi agreed to donate his organs to the needy after talks, he said.
Doshi's remaining one kidney, eyes and skin will be transplanted locally, he added.
In last four months, five green corridors had been created to transport human organs for transplant in the city, he said.
