The Bihar police today detained two persons carrying Rs 31 lakh in Nepalese currency at the Ghodasahan Bazar in East Champaran district.
Ghodasahan Station House Officer (SHO) Lalit Kumar said the two persons have been identified as Upendra Jaiswal and Vijay Kushwaha, who are residents of Gaur in Rautahat district of Nepal.
"The two are claiming that they are employees of one Surabhi Collection Company in Nepal, and had brought the Nepalese currency for exchanging it into Indian currency," said the SHO.
The SHO also said both of them were being interrogated to find more about the matter.
