Two killed, 12 injured as bus overturns into a pit

Two persons, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed and at least 12 other injured when a bus overturned into a pit in Mohammadi area here, police said.
Pratap, 40, and Ayush, 7, were killed when a private bus carrying pilgrims from Purnagiri temple in Uttarkhand overturned in a pit near Amir Nagar in Lakhimpur early morning, it said.
The injured have been admitted to a district hospital where their condition was under control, police said.
The bus driver fled from the spot. The negligence on the part of the bus driver was the reason behind the accident, they added.
