First Additional Sessions Judge Dhirendra Singh handed down the punishment yesterday to Baijnath Rajput and Ramsagar Rajput under IPC Section 302 (murder) and Arms Act, prosecution said today.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on the duo and directed the authorities to pay the same to the deceased couple's children.
The two had a dispute with the couple over some issue. On April 1, 2012 Baijnath shot and fatally injured the husband Mahendra in Chhattarpur town. When his wife intervened, Ramsagar fired at her, killing her on the spot, the prosecution said.
