suffocation when their house caught fire in Sardarpur town near here apparently due to short-circuit, police said today.
"The mishap occurred in Main Bazar area when blaze started at the house of one Vijay Garg, apparently due to short circuit," Dhar SP B S Chouhan said.
The fire spread due to the presence of crackers for Diwali stored in the house, he said.
While one of the victims, identified as Nainu (06), died at primary health centre, Sardarpur, her elder sibling Vaishnavi (08) succumbed to her injuries in Indore.
The SP said that both the sisters died of asphyxiation after inhaling thick smoke that had engulfed the house soon after it caught fire.
