District and Session Judge Dibyajyoti Mahanta sentenced Rameswar Kakoti, an employee in Lahkar's LPG agency, and contract killer Maheswar Lahori of Baksa district to life imprisonment in the case and slapped a fine of Rs 5000 on each of them.
The Court also released on bail of Rs 10,000 each six other persons arrested in connection with the murder.
On December 12, 2007 Lahkar was shot dead at point blank range at his residence by Kakoti and Lahori.
Two other hired killers Kabul Singh Basumatary and Bireswar Boro are still absconding and police are on the lookout for them.
