The 41-year-old "America's Next Top Model" host will play Dre's (Anthony Anderson) best friend in a story based on series creator Kenya Barris' real-life friendship with the model, reported Ace Showbiz.
"I give my wife a lot of credit; I grew up with (Banks), but my wife came into a situation where my best friend from 4 years old is a supermodel. She's a very good sport," Barris said.
"Black-ish" the single-camera comedy that centres on an upper-middle-class African-American family debuted last year.
The second season will premiere on September 23. Episode featuring Banks will air around the middle of the season.
