Uneasy calm betrayed the tension in Atali village which witnessed two communal clashes recently as a three-member team of State Human Rights Commission reached the village and took stock of the situation.
The team comprising Registrar S C Goyal (Legal), DSP Jagdish Rai and Dheeraj Setia reached the village yesterday and visited the disputed site.
They also visited the burnt houses of minority community for assessment of loss. The team also asked for the details of residents not returning their home at Atali.
Other relevant details pertaining to the village were also asked for by the committee. Today the committee could not visit the village due to heavy rains.
However, residents of village talked to the committee over phone and a meeting with some of the residents was scheduled for Sunday morning, said Dheeraj Setia, a member of the committee.
It was also learnt that Chairman Haryana Human Rights Commission, Justice Vijendra Jain would also visit the village on July 13.
He would also be accompanied by justice H S Bhalla and Bijendra Ahlawat.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Force (RAF) posted a few days ago has been withdrawn and has been replaced with two companies of Border Security Force (BSF) containing 160 personnel.
ACP Vishnu Dayal told PTI that the police and BSF are competent to take care of any problem of law and order.
