In a circular sent to district magistrates, Chief Secretary Javed Usmani has said the security of burial and cremation grounds of minority communities, including Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi, should be ensured.
A boundary wall will be constructed as part of the Minorities Burial and Cremation Ground Security Scheme.
For the implementation of the scheme, an eight-membered committee headed by respective DM would be constituted, of which the district minority welfare officer would be the member secretary.
Usmani said only public burial and cremation grounds of minority communities should be selected for such construction.
The Construction and Design Services division of Jal Nigam has been nominated to carry out this task.
