The USAF C-130 Hercules -- a large transport plane used to haul troops and cargo -- landed yesterday night at 10 pm.
"Our emergency services and officials from Eastern Health were waiting when the plane landed," said St John's International Airport spokesperson Sara Norris.
Canadian authorities have not confirmed the reason for the emergency landing or whether any passengers were hospitalised.
