The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be immersed in Godavari and Musi rivers in Telangana, the BJP state unit said today.
The ashes would be brought to the BJP's Telangana headquarters here tomorrow evening from the international airport, party unit general secretary Chinta Samba Murthy said.
The ashes would be kept at the party office for people to pay their respects to the departed leader on August 23.
On the same day, the ashes would be taken to Basar near Nizamabad, where a Saraswathi temple is situated, for immersion in the Godavari by a team led by state BJP president K Laxman, Samba Murthy was quoted as saying in a party release.
Another team led by former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya would go to Ananthagiri near here the same day for immersing the ashes in Musi river.
