Hailing from a small town Pupri in Bihar, Vikram won two bronze medals in men's singles and men's doubles respectively at Loughborough which hosted the Para Badminton Championships from June 24 to 29.
"our next step is to win a gold medal for India in the Asian Games to be held in South Korea in October 2014. I will also try to participate in other international tournaments in the future and try to win medals for India," said Vikram Kumar after returning from his selection camp in Hyderabad.
Para Badminton is still not an Olympic sport. Badminton is aiming to win a place at the Paralympics in 2020, with the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the sport's governing body, claiming the sport would be "a positive addition" to the Games programme.
