Villagers protest against illicit liquor in Greater Noida

A group of people from Maicha villagers today held protest at SSP office here demanding action against liquor mafias.
The protesters alleged that since last two years, illicit liquor supply was going on in the village and some people fell ill after consuming the liquor on the occasion of Holi.
They claimed that police have failed to check the menace.
The Villagers met the DSP Arun Kumar Singh who promised of action against the liquor mafias.
District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said, "We are regularly conducting raids against illicit liquor. In this month so far we have seized 15,000 litre of illicit smuggled liquor.
"Regarding Maicha village, I have directed the inspectors to send a team and check for illicit liquor supply in the village and arrest the liquor mafias," he said.
